Mr. Hand reported on the upgrade of CODAP to year 2000 compliance. The
subroutine "datime.f" was modified to properly convert the year code
returned by local system subroutine "localtime" (number of years since
1900) to the correct 2-digit literal. All programs were recompiled.
Testing was performed after changing the local system date to year 2000,
and then again tested after restoring the date to the present.
Several programs required special attention:
-
Due to additional optimization, the program MODGEN no longer compiled successfully.
Two arrays called MIN and MAX created a conflict with the Fortran MIN and MAX
functions, generated by the optimization. These array names were changed, and the program
compiled successfully.
-
The date cutoff field on the FACSXX processor call was removed. This feature was
somewhat useful on the Sperry, as the program could be very slow when processing large
Task Factor files, but has no real relevance on the RISC. The default documented "sort" on
date created is not a true sort. The factors are simply listed in the order in which they are
added to the file, so the year 2000 creates no special problems. This "sort" also applies to
REPSXX.
-
SYSTEM was modified to read a seven-digit date field from the file "codap.sysfile". The
extra digit can be used in the first month of the year 2000 to ensure proper reporting of
changes.
-
OMS reported a problem with printing multi-page DIAGRMs from a Report file. Unable to
duplicate the problem, the original data from OMS will be required to further examine this
anomaly.
-
The next meeting will be at 14:00 hours, Thursday, 28 August.
