OA USERS GROUP MEETING

March 1997

The monthly meeting of the OA Users Group was held 27 Mar 1997 at 1400 hours, at the OMS conference room, Hanger 13, Randolph AFB, TX. Elena Weber, OMYX, chaired the meeting. Those in attendance included:

1. Mr. Hand reported that VARSUM, RPDEL, PRTREP, REPSXX, and EXPORTCD were all tested and accepted by OMS.

2. All WWW CODAP documentation updates as identified by Sgt. Tim O'Neil were made. The following pages were modified and/or created.

   The "CODAP Documentation Updates" page has been modified to include a link to each updated page, saving the user the trouble of trying to find each page.

3. The CODAP home page on the world wide web is being utilized by a variety of users, some of which have a legitimate interest. Some of the "hits" are automated search engines seeking selected key words, but examination of typical users suggests some are finding useful information. The following table shows the number of hits into any of the CODAP web pages. This count does not include unsuccessful hits, nor image (.jpg or .gif) loads.

4. The status of the Air Force Survey Authoring System was addressed, in terms of continuing changes to respond to items reviewed by OMYV. Most of the requested changes have been made, and additional changes are pending. A meeting was scheduled for Wed, 2 April, at 0830 in OMYV to install an updated system. Mr. Ostrander stated that, overall, he felt we were getting very close to an operational system although there are still some issues involving the Collect function in terms of OM-desired output format. He noted that a decision was pending concerning the use of AUTHOR to generate survey disks for the Frequency Management specialty, where the Air Force functional manager desires a quick turnaround including a completed analysis by July. If the system changes test out, then this will probably be the first OMY-operated generation of disks for field distribution.
