This file contains audited data from the job inventory booklets, i.e., the background variables and task responses, as well as the automatically created computed variables from INPSTD, such as number of responses, sum of raw responses, etc., plus any new computed variables requested by the job analyst, such as average task difficulty per unit time spent (ATDPUTS from VARGEN), job difficulty index (JDI), module time-spent variables from MODVAR, etc..
There is one record for each booklet or case in the study. Any program which reports or summarizes individual case data uses the Case Data file. The file format is the same for cases whether they are job incumbents rating time-spent, or subject- matter-experts rating task factors. There is a separate Case Data file for each type of factor rated (e.g., time spent, task learning difficulty, recommended training emphasis, etc.). This file also contains an archive copy of the variable titles (sometimes called the variable dictionary or variable definitions), as well as the task and duty titles, along with pointer information which specifies which tasks belong to which duty area.
