Task/Duty Titles

Last updated 18 Jul 96

This set of control cards provides a record of what task data was collected from each individual responding to the CODAP survey. The importance of the task response data to the CODAP system has made it imperative that the task statements be accurately captured. For this reason, up to 15 lines may be used for each task statement according to the format described below. The task titles must be in proper sequence and the duty titles must follow the task titles. Task and duty title statements both have the same basic form with the exception of columns 8-11 on each card. These columns must be blank for duty statements and they must contain the task within duty number for task statements. This number must be right justified. This set of control cards must contain one set of title cards for each task in the inventory. These title card sets must be in sequence, and they must be followed by the duty title cards, which must also be in sequence with one title card set for each duty. The format which must be followed for this set of control cards is described below.

<num> <char> <task> <title>
num: cc 04-05 The line number within this title. Each
title may consist of 1-15 lines.
char: cc 07-07 The duty character for this title.
task: cc 08-11 The task within duty number. This field
must be blank for duty titles.
title: cc 15-74 The task or duty statement.
It is recommended that second and subsequent
lines of a statement be started in column 16
to help differentiate them from the first line.

These control cards must be in sequence and one set must exist for each task/duty statement. To check these cards for any errors, missing lines, or out of sequence statements the AUDITT program should be run.

Extended task inventories

Occasionally it is desirable to report tasks that are not actually part of the survey. These tasks should be listed after the end of the task titles and before the duty titles. The format is identical to other task statements. The task numbers must continue in sequence, but the user may specify any duty letter (or number) desired. Do not supply any additional duty titles
